Overview
Heart disease remains one of the leading health concerns worldwide, but small daily changes can make a big difference. Here are five habits I recommend to my patients:
- Move for at least 30 minutes a day — walking counts.
- Cut back on added sugar and processed foods.
- Prioritize 7–8 hours of sleep each night.
- Manage stress through mindfulness or a hobby you enjoy.
- Get your blood pressure checked regularly, even if you feel fine.
None of these changes need to happen overnight. Start with one habit, build consistency, and add more over time. Your heart will thank you.
